"In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different".. Coco Chanel. I shall live and die by this quote. Be who you want to be, not who someone wants you to be, it honestly is the difference between being happy and not. I aim to blog about fashion and all that surrounds it.

shoe-tastic

It has been far toooo long since I have last blogged, but it's been the summer hol's and I certainly have been a busy bee. I took part in a wicked internship, helped at a fashion show backstage, worked at the Olympics, watched the Olympics... Gone to Paris, Tunisia. I am well and truly NOT rested to return to Uni next week.

So any-who. I've once again managed to get back into my uni routine of putting off anything that I should be doing my looking online. This time I blame my mum. She left her iPad with me to look on and it just seemed to automatically go to River Island's app (or alternatively website; http://www.riverisland.com).... strange! (hehe)

So much awesome stock is in for the upcoming chilly months, and I am most certainly needing some of there beautiful knitwear and fluffy long coats, they look so cosy even from a picture. WANTWANTWANT.

More importantly, the shoe selection is intensifying more and more as I scroll through the beauties. So... let's begin...

I am a bit of a sucker for something stroke-able and a bit of velvet is right up my street. This deep red is so gorgeous to wear with black bottoms and a few little studs to spice it up. I really love these, they just look so rich and comfortable, however, obviously as being a RI Loves item, theres only currently size 3's left, and no wonder at just £45.. keep checking for new stock!!!!

Ooooooh, you cannot go wrong with a bit of leopard print... not one bit! and a chunky heel... it's almost too much. So usable and funky for the gloomy days ahead, putting a purr in your step is almost essential... it IS essential. Everyone should have some crazy kitty paws. For just £65 I really think these are worth it and there's plenty of stock left online! Just do it... you won't regret it!

Gussets, Heels, Straps.. what more do you want? These ankle boots are wicked, with a simple toe and the detailed ankle, they're not too overpowering but sassy enough to spice up a outfit when styled in a specific way. I love them. Maybe not a everyday boot for running about Uni but, hey... I could walk all day and take my time for these babies. But for £75 I may have to wait..still. I love them.

These are every little thing I need right now, simple, suede, block heel and so wearable. I live in black boots in the winter and my poor ones last year took such a hammering that a versatile pair like this, £65 is more than justifiable. With the 8cm heel they're perfect for adding a little height but not to cripple you by the end of the day. I really need to invest in these before its too late.

These.... These are everything I WANT. My lord. I cannot even sum up the words to describe how much I love these. Red, umm, TICK...Studs, TICK. Easy/comfortable heel... TICK. I don't need to justify my reasons, you just need to believe me that these are the best thing. Ever. I might need to save up some pennies a little bit as £90 is a little steeper than the heel itself but I believe I would eat, sleep, live and die in these. Oh I just cant stop.... Someone send me a loan?

Now I am far too excited by these shoes I might have to go and shop....

Take care and I'll be back sooner than last time.

Online Shopper

One of my friends emailed me earlier today asking me to give a hand with helping get a outfit together as she is going out next week for drinks with a small group of friends.. Of course I willing accepted. Got all my little details, i.e., how much she was willing to spend, what kind of style and who was going and where. I got what I needed and let my fingers hit the keyboard googling away.

I love the girl to pieces but her love for girly style is not existent... The day I saw her in a dress at prom.. I took as many photo's of possible and she looked absolutely gorgeous! So anyway... I tried to keep it close to her own style but added a few little extra's to "spice it up" as it was! I created little mood boards to showcase a full outfit, although there may have been items in her own wardrobe she could mix in to keep the cost down.

Out Fit One....

As I know my friend likes to keep her wardrobe quite neutral and a little more masculine, I went for some simple little additions that would brighten up the outfit. I thought I may have been a little ambitious with the green blouse and yellow peep toes but I thought there was no harm starting big and toning it down!

As I thought, my friend wanted 'a little more casual and simple colours'. So I started to hunt about again and came up with two more options...

Next up, I muted down the colours but kept one burst. In the second, the bright bag which I absolutely adore. The simple black trousers and lightweight lace detail back blouse. I wanted to keep heels involved in the outfit due to it being a evening drink in a bar/club. I thought it was essential, along with the use of black, always a popular and safe colour to fall back on.

Finally a pieced together what I thought would be the best and favoured option. I knew she'd recently been admiring maroon skinny jeans so I thought it best to include this in one option. With a lower heel option, maroon skinnies, and button up chiffon shirt option with a cami underneath for modesty.
As predicted, the third was favoured and my work was done!

Take care :)

Destination: Wardrobe Domination..

So as you may know from a previous post or two I am currently interning and doing my bit in the ACTUAL world of fashion. So much has been going on that it's only a few days each week but still, I am loving it. And to help raise the profile of E-Closet, which, fingers crossed, this week the website will be launching, I am uploading one of the many blogs I have been writing for the company..

So here it is.. Enjoy!!

I am probably the worst culprit to write such a post to you all, hoarder should be my middle name. I find it impossible and positively crazy at the thought of throwing items out. To me it’s like when I go shopping and the sales are on, it makes me mad, to see how the clothes are thrown around and thumbed over so easily.    But, in recent weeks I have come to the conclusion that these sometimes-negative atmospheres are actually best to take control of and start again!

It’s a cycle of happiness this way. Buy, wear, sort, sell... Buy! Who could ask for a better way to treat clothes, renewing their home and replenishing our fetishes. Win, Win situation I think.

First of all, we take it slowly as to not overwhelm ourselves and back out of this mini declutter marathon. So, grab a cup of tea, bin bag and a stall. Now. Open the doors to Narnia...

1. Begin sifting through the rails or draws and looking for things that make you stop and ask yourself “Where did that come from?”, “I forgot I had this”, “What was I thinking?”. These are signs of a definite time to go item. 2. Next step, is it worthy of a new home? If so place it in a little neat pile on your bed. 3. Or is it totally unworthy? A little shabby, thread bear, then chuck it straight in that bin bag and don’t look back.  OR! There is a third option, can it be up-cycled? Chop the sleeves off, add some beautiful buttons, open your mind and allow in other possibilities. Now create a third pile or place it with the first... the re-sellers.

Us at E-Closet will accept all things in good condition. It is all beautiful to us and we want to help you close that blustery Narnia and create our own, controlled walk in fashion portal, helping re-house those once loved items.

Take it slowly if you need to, and like me, cannot part with a lot in one big sweep. Break it down over a few days, do it just before going to bed or first thing in the morning. Make it a regular occurrence.  Make a date in your diary for a ‘once a month clear out’. Keeping on top of it all will make your life a lot easier and hopefully bring you in a little extra money, what more could you ask for.

So go and sort tonight! Take them first steps to a cleaner, lighter and brighter wardrobe allowing you to see your clothes again for the first time and chuck away those ones that are no longer loved by you. They deserve better after all.

Good luck, we look forward to opening our arms to your items!

So keep your eye's peeled and start hunting through your wardrobes as E-Closet is coming your way guys n girls!!

The torch hit Essex...

It's not very fashion related, and I won't try to make it but today the Olympic Torch came on home soil to me and it was amazing!
Yes the white, near see-through tracks suits were lovely and all but the fact police men were high fiving the crowd as they drove past on their motor bikes and the old fashion bus used by Lloyds Tsb and the crazy little red mini kind of stole the show. I've never seem so many people in England unite and be so friendly to complete random people.

It was amazing, woman on the roof to a old barn, flags, pints, camera men running... It really was a amazing sight. Not forgetting the flame itself of course!

Just this one time, I shall let my fashion writing slip.

Summer 2012... The London Olympics. Roll on the 27th!!!!!

Its been a while

I can't believe how long its been since I have last blogged, I have missed it and my obsessive ways. But no fear, I am back.

It's been a little crazy, my first year of university is all wrapped up and well, still awaiting grades (the usual now).  I've been to Graduate fashion week and got a lot of inspiration, along with a insight into up coming Macro trends at the WGSN talk (http://www.wgsn.com/).  I helped out at front of house at the Northbrook College and Bournemouth fashion show and it was amazing to see the girls we had worked with recently have such positive feedback and a welcoming response into their new lives.

As always my past few weeks have consisted of spending money, whats new? WELL... things in my wardrobe to be precise :)   Booked myself a holiday for the end of August to Tunisia, this means one thing. The hunting has begun.

This is already well on its way to me, it was fate. I saw it in Company (http://www.company.co.uk/) so instantly got on line to M&S, yes M&S.. (http://www.marksandspencer.com/) and it was sold out. I was so gutted.   A few days later I checked again and was about to start ringing all local stores and there was one, just the single one in my size. Speed took control of my fingers and it was ordered! :D

Next up, again this is already ordered. I saw it in a email H&M sent me, and i knew if I didnt order straight away, it would sell out and my life would not ever be the same again. So, click, click, click. Bang. Bank -£24.99. BARGAIN! (http://www.hm.com/gb/)

Theres plenty more that I'm wanting, as always. But I'm gonna try hold off till I'm earning from the work I will be doing at the Olympics. In the mean time if anyone is in the know for lightweight beach style trousers... I'd appreciate the heads up!

Thanks,

B x

Collaboration Creations

We often see stores and designers join together to give us something unforgettable, H&M often collaborate with designers. Starting back in 2004 with Karl Lagerfeld, since then other guest designers have included a Stella McCartney collection by Dutch Duo, Viktor and Rolf (2005), Madonna (2007), Roberto Cavalli (2007) and continue to stride forward with the likes of Versace and Marni in 2011.

But it isn't just the high street of H&M dominating each year with another big name... Champagne makers Piper Heidsieck have collaborated with none-other than my man, Christian Louboutin! The exclusive box set includes a bottle of champs and a glass shoe. (2009)

However, a favourite of mine is the Coca Cola collaborations. Limited editions of Coke bottles for all sorts of reasons. Last year when I was in Paris, they caught my eye, displayed in a bus shelter, with none other than the lord, Karl Lagerfeld plastered across them, in 3 different designs.

You really should take a look at all the bottles they do, it's amazing, I always think of a glass coke bottle in a foreign country when on holiday but with these lovelies (http://www.cocacolacollectibles.co.uk/all-bottles.html) not no more! There's more to coke now-a-days.

all for now, just a little entry

"Just Arrived.."

These words will always be the ones that haunt me every time I get a email from Topshop, River Island, Next, Zara.... any. They're all the devil in me and tempt fate to the extreme.

So today, that little Devil is River Island. Boy oh Boy. They do it so well.  Wanna see the temptations so far, your going to anyway!

FIRST UP!

The Pink Bow Peep toe espadrille's..

With any luck it will soon stop raining and Summer WILL return to our lives. The pretty yet bright canvas shoe is a simple step to Summer with every little shuffle you take in these. want want want want want want!!!!! £15.00 (BARGAIN)

Black Python Print Print Bikini (top)..

If I was jet setting this year, this would totally already be bought and in my suitcase. It is SO cute. The frilly detail is excellent for those, like my self, a little light on the chest department. The subtle print and soft blending colours are lovely. Even get away with it with some denim shorts and a cute waist coat for sightseeing!  £20.00

Mid Wash Denim Union Jack Print Waistcoat

Now this item, I don't think I can keep my bank closed. It is lovely. With tiny cap detail on the raw edge sleeves and union detail on the pocket and one side of the body. Certainly a buy to chuck on in the Summer and during the festival season. Might even try making my own.. Sorry River Island, but I like your style, just not at £35.00.   (pssstttt. there's even matching shorts!!!!!!)

Grey Aztec Print Platform Ankle Boots.

These chunky beasts are probably not the best for the Summer, getting hot feet and all, but in the mean time with this grim cast over we have, I think that these should be bought just to... well. Just because. I love the design and the block heel is great to keep you steady, just that platform at the front opposes the idea. Shame they are £85.00..

I like this new method of mine... Rather then spending any buying everything I really need... okay, want! I shall blog and blog until I feel that the babies are mine. Simple! There's plenty more I could show you, however, by now, I am sure that you're heading there right now..

Go on, see what tempt's you too! There's always something, and we do deserve it after all. www.riverisland.com
