"In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different".. Coco Chanel. I shall live and die by this quote. Be who you want to be, not who someone wants you to be, it honestly is the difference between being happy and not. I aim to blog about fashion and all that surrounds it.

Fash-ication

Styling & Photography: Myself
MUA: Emma Dowdell ( www.emmadowdell.co.uk)
Model: Alix Stern

Today I did a shoot for my current Uni project.. my inspiration basically stood at Fashion and Body Modification, taken from the ancient mayan's modification representing social status, the flatter and more elongated, the high in social class you were believed to be.

So with this in mind, I created two head pieces. The first blue creation was using scraps of materials, from lame to organza and then using Aqua film, sewn and then dissolved and moulded to the appropriate shape for the head piece. I then created the second gold option using Mod rock which I then painted gold once it had dried.

After all of the creating, I then teamed up with my sister again for hair and makeup using Alix again for my model.. We went to our local beach and with the rain coming in from across the sea, the sky was really heavy and moody which was excellent linking the sky to the colours which Alix was wearing.

All in all, another successful shoot.

Marketing Unit

Recently at Uni I've been working on a Marketing Unit.. We basically had to write a report, do a presentation and create a new advertising campaign for a brand. I've loved doing this, getting into the nitty gritty of a business and playing on photoshop, a obvious favourite past time! Anyway, I focused my project on Moschino's Cheap and Chic range. I decided to work on Moschino's campaign because I thought there was so much more they could do in general, let alone for Cheap and Chic.

There current S/S 2012 campaign for MOSCHINO is pretty good, bold and really makes a statement of the brand being monumental with a statuesque model poised in all her glory.

So to continue Moschino's use of iconic locations and the cheekiness of the Cheap and Chic range, after debuting in London Fashion Week back in February, I decided that they need to put a Italian stamp on London... of course, using a little fun.

My final adverts...

I love Photoshop.

All for now

Practice: descriptive writing

I flicked gingerly through the glossy pages of iD, absorbed in a shoot, when the silky touch of the page is greeted with the grimy print of a room with a thousand stories embedded in it.

Such elegance of a armoured swan, poised where stories have been abolished in the past. Thriving ruffles of thick fabric billow around the knees of such a strong woman. Worthy to stand alone, she's proud, perfect and dominating. Just like the legacy Lee Alexander McQueen has adorned us with.
